Ballet School

Photographs taken during a ballet practice session in the elementary (lower) division with students age 10 - 14 at the State Ballet School in Skopje, Macedonia. The State Ballet had its first performance on 27 January 1949 and has since then established itself as the most important institute for classic dance in the country. Students go to regular schools during the day and then 5 days of the week in the afternoon they have ballet classes. At the end of each semester traditionally they prepare a ballet performance open to the public.
